Although not named, Jakob first appears in Chapter 3 when he arrives with the New Comers. In Chapter 4 when he assigned Guard Duty, Michael refers to him as "You, in the Red Cap".

Jakob is apparently not helpful around the Tower, so is selected by Angel to go out and search for a second helicopter while Kalani is out trying to repair the Jolly Green Giant Burt and Saul found.
