    Saul undercover

Do you think it was a good idea for Saul to follow Latch & Scratch?

Decidedly, no. It was a terrible idea. It seems so obvious now that Saul is responsible for everyone's deaths.

    He must be stopped!

I can understand his reasoning; but considering that this gave the Mallers a huge opportunity to get aware of the Tower much earlier then it would have probably taken them under other circumstances I am not so certain, if his reasoning was "right".
But putting the fall of the Tower and a lot of the trouble on his shoulder ... Not sure: In the end it was Kalani who gave the Mallers all the information they needed to run their first attack; and after that the conflict between the Tower and Mallers were heavily fueled by the self-defense action performed by Pegs ... No, Saul - the hotshot he is - made things complicated, but he does not carry (all) the burden alone.

    Best wishes!

When did Kalani show up? Was it before or after? I always forget.

The events in the order of occurence:

    1) It is quite safe to assume that Saul lead Latch and Scratch to the Tower the first time, because they showed up briefly after he fled from the Mall.
    2) Later, during the Arena events Michael, Saul and Burt rescued Datu and Kalani; at that time Kalani was already in the devil's grip and was under pressure to safe his daughter.
    3) Kalani - the 'rat', as it later turns out - informed the Mallers about the party in the Tower, the tower-people, the lack of ammunition and all the turmoil there is; that is why the Mallers appeared in huge numbers at the Tower, 'cause they were confident they would have an easy game with the Tower..
    4) Also Kalani was the one actually starting the War by shooting 'at' the Mallers from the Tower's third floor, while Michael, Angel, Burt and Pegs tried to negotiate with Durai for some more time to think about the situation.
    5) Finally during the war Pegs killed Latch; and that fueled the rage and especially the revenge for the loss of the probably most important person in Scratch's life, which explains her all-in attitude regarding Pegs and the other Tower-people.

One big question here would be: If the Mallers would not have known about the Tower, how much longer would it have taken for Kalani to figure the location of the Tower and to inform the Mallers about it?

All in all I'd say: No doubt that there is a lot of guilt piled up; but does Saul play a role in it? After all - and although understanding Kalani - it was Kalani who extradited the Tower with all Tower-residents' having their pants down ... In the light of these events Saul's give-away (position of the Tower in the first place) has no meaning at all.

Ha, shit. It's Sunday, grey weather. Too much time to write wall of words.

    Best wishes!
    Liam

    Oof. Here we go again.

We all know who is responsible for the war, for the violence, for the bloodshed. It was Burt.

And at this time, I can no longer actively participate in this thread, or people will be turned into piles of goo and the universe will cease to exist.

I'm sorry that you leave from discussion. And yes, Burt's share in this should not be underestimated. That as well leads to the conclusion that Saul's part in this is even more a minor factor in the complete structure of this conflict, isn't it?

Technically it was the apocalypse that is responsible. Maybe if Saul had asked his mothers neighbors where she was, none of this would have happened. Maybe if Angel had joined the family business, none of this would have happened. Maybe if Michael had gone to that party he was invited too, none of this would have happened.
