I'm thinking fair, but gruff and with dick-like qualities.

Durai is calm, calculating, very cold and obviously very capable of making those around him respect him (through fear). Marcus was more like your classic con man: talked a good game, was far more personable and ruled with an iron fist because that's how he had to keep his power.

You're probably going to see aspects of both Marcus and Durai at Irwin. But it will be the cold, calculation of the military. There won't be the lead by instilling fear aspect I don't think.

There was a lot of hope for me in this episode. As soon as Saul and Victor found the zip line was unusually placed, I believed this was evidence for Burt surviving and being relatively okay. I was waiting for them to find a corpse and notice a .50 caliber action express bullet hole in it.

The reason for the unusual placing of the rope is that Michael pulls up the rope after Burt's fall and then he lets the rope fall to the ground. The end of the rope would have been like this \_ on the ground after Burt's fall. When Michal pulls it up then drops it the rope hangs like this |.

I don't care what the situation is, you respect my freakin' rank. I know Michael is the type of NCO that has a level head, and he's only a sergeant, but a corporal is below my rank and will respect me and my guests. 3. When someone draws a weapon on me, I tend to ask questions. Mostly "what unit is this? where is your squad leader? who is your commander?" This is going to be interesting.

The most interesting thing to me while they were dealing with Puck was Puck referring to the post commander (yes, post not base) he kept saying Colonel. As was pointed out earlier in this thread, the post commander for NTC and Fort Irwin is a one star general. I really hope this unit ends up being a bunch of AWOLs and turdbags that got there late and started acting like they were in charge.
Michael didn't have on his uniform I don't think. Some dude walks up to me after getting out of a Jolly Green Giant flown by a civilian in a world overrun by zombies, he can claim to be Liberace for all I care. I'm not going to let him move an inch until I verify who he is and what the situation is. You're looking at it from the wrong veiwpoint. Your rank doesn't matter when you show up out of the blue after the entire world has been overrun by the walking dead, and you show up in a JGG. How long do you think it's been since they saw a helicopter flying around, much less by a bunch of dirty civilians, one who is drunk off her ass and the other as a petite girl that has no business looking like a pilot? Some dude walks up to me all huff and puff claiming to be a Sergeant and demands answers is gonna get a barrel in his face and told to shut up. As a non-active Marine Sergeant, I wouldn't want to be treated that way either by a Corporal, but I'm smart enough to realize had the situation been reversed, I wouldn't care who he claimed to be. Soft skill? Really? Being a grunt is nothing more than a glorified pack mule, that's it. Especially in the Army. He was an Intel specialist. You don't get to be those guys without some smarts, plus he was a gate guard and I'm sure he's seen just as much danger as a grunt would. The guys at Irwin were completely correct in their actions and Micheal was smart enough to realize that. Going hell for leather in that situation would only get you shot and rightly so.

Woo! Just seeing Mr. Whiskers on the cover art made my day. Most of the star characters are staggeringly lucky, but I'll take it.
